17 Jan Don’t Look Up is a Joke #shorts
Don’t Look Up was condescending and often unintentionally funny, ultimately making a mockery of a lot of people who clearly weren’t the intended targets of scorn for writers David Sirota and Adam McKay.
Far from being a good satire of about global warming — which, in reality, saturates the news and is the subject of innumerable political speeches, celebrity activism, and fear-mongering think pieces every year — the movie seems to be a much better satire of the politicians and state-scientists who are currently setting our public health policies, and of the way mainstream journalists have treated their critics.
Unfortunately, that’s not what it set out to be, and looking at who wrote it, it’s no surprise why it got so much wrong.
